Shinsegae International is accelerating the expansion of its imported cosmetics business by launching a new brand, following DOLCE&GABBANA BEAUTY and Courrèges Perfumes.
Shinsegae International has signed an exclusive domestic distribution agreement with Austrian spa brand ‘Susanne Kaufmann’ and will begin pre-sales through its digital platform S.I.VILLAGE from the 4th. Starting on the 11th, it will also be available at the offline beauty select shop LA PERVA, SSG.com, Naver Store, and KakaoTalk gifting service.
Susanne Kaufmann is a skincare brand launched in 2003 by the founder under her name and is known as a pioneer in natural beauty. It is a wellness spa brand based on green plants from the Austrian Alps that combines nature, science, and sustainability and is especially famous in the U.S. and Europe.
By securing Susanne Kaufmann, Shinsegae International has increased the number of imported brands to 22 and has an unrivaled portfolio in the imported cosmetics business.
The imported cosmetics business is one of the major businesses, with sales growing by more than double digits every year. We are discovering and importing famous overseas brands and new brands with high growth potential that are unknown in Korea. This year alone, we have launched French makeup brand 'Laura Mercier,’ Italian hair care 'Davines,’ French niche perfume 'Heeley,' Italian brands, 'Culti’ and 'Dolce & Gabbana Beauty,' and the French luxury fashion house's perfume line 'Courrèges Parfumes' were launched one after another.
With Susanne Kaufmann, Shinsegae International expects to capture the demand in the sustainable beauty field, which has recently received increasing attention.
Susanne Kaufmann was inspired by the traditional skin care methods and plants that grow in the region of Bregenzerwald, where you can feel the great nature of Austria, and is introducing products that can provide excellent results by incorporating bio-science technology.
We sell specialized skin care lines tailored to various skin types and body and bath lines that provide a healthy lifestyle. All products are developed and manufactured locally based on raw plant materials from the Alps region. In addition to focusing on high-quality ingredients and excellent efficacy, we consider nature and sustainability throughout the entire process, from manufacturing to sales and delivery. It features a glass container and refill package that takes recycling into account.
The representative product, Nourishing Day Cream, contains rosehip seed oil and hyaluronic acid derivatives that provide nutrition and moisture to dry and sensitive skin and provide a skin-soothing effect. Here, beeswax and squalane oil prevent moisture loss, while the vitamin E ingredients of sunflower oil and tomato fruit extract nourish the skin and help maintain elasticity.
Other products include ▲Purifying Cleansing Gel, which contains alpine willow extract to remove impurities accumulated on the skin and provides an effective cleansing effect ▲Bath for the Senses, a bathing agent with the scent of ylang-ylang, patchouli, and lavender flowers that provides peace of mind and body, and ▲Body, Face & Scalp Wash that contain Albatrellus confluens (mushroom) and wheat protein to protect the skin and provide nutrition to the hair.
