Shinsegae International announced that a pop-up store for the Japanese designer brand CFCL will be opened near Dosan Park in Apgujeong, Seoul from November 2nd to the 30th of this month.

CFCL was establised in 2020 by the founder and the creative director Yusuke Takahashi, former designer of ISSEY MIYAKE MEN, and primarily consists of 3D computer programming-aided knitwear.

The brand has transformed knitwear into a product which can match the needs of contemporary life by focusing on the soft touch of the fabric, elasticity that allows for flexible wear regardless of body type, and ease of care.

As the brand name, which stands for ‘Clothing for Contemporary Life,’ suggests, the brand designs timeless and comfortable clothes that modern city dwellers can wear every day, regardless of the times or trends.

Starting in 2022, the brand has been participating in Paris Fashion Week every season to present its collections, receiving much love from around the world.

Meanwhile, CFCL has focused on sustainability and the brand is the first Japanese apparel company which received B Corp certification, an international standard.

Since the design method using computer programming does not require cutting, there is only a little matterial waste, and all collections actively use recycled and certified materials.

The goal of the brand is to expand the target of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) to all products by 2025, and to be carbon neutral by 2030.

This pop-up store, which opens this month, will showcase a collection of 100 colors of skirts, created in collaboration with French architect, artist and designer Emmanuelle Moureaux.

The store, which is displayed in a gradation CFCL's representative product and the brand's symbolic jar-shaped POTTERY skirt.

Customers can purchase on-site, as well as special order (pre-order) skirts and tops in their favorite colors.

The POTTERY skirt is a soft and elasticity product with no seams and a banded waist, making it comfortable to wear in everyday life.

It is delicately made with computer programming and features a rich volume and three-dimensional design. It is made using ECOPET®, a recycled polyester material.

A movie of the process of turning waste PET bottles into yarn will also be revealed through a large display in the store.

Along with this, various popular products including CFCL's VOL.8 Collection (Fall/Winter 2024 season) will be introduced.
