Shinsegae International announced on the 6th that world-renowned designer brand Yohji Yamamoto, imported and sold by Shinsegae International, has opened its first pop-up store in Korea near Dosan Park in Apgujeong, Seoul. It will be run for approximately three weeks until the 22nd.

 

Yohji Yamamoto has been revolutionizing the fashion world through his philosophy of “conquering fashion through antithesis” – namely, an antithesis to traditional western clothing. Armed with a spirit of rebellion, he expresses his design philosophy though creating pieces that have endured the test of time, and which challenge taboos and propose radical convictions.

 

It opened its first store in Korea in 2010 and currently operates a total of two stores, including the main branch of Shinsegae Department Store and the Gangnam branch.

 

This Dosan pop-up store is the first official pop-up to be launched by Yohji Yamamoto since its entry into Korea, and was planned as a collection exhibition space reminiscent of an art gallery. It will display new products for the fall/winter 2024 season, as well as collection photo works in collaboration with world-renowned photographer Takay.

 

The pop-up venue is 187.9㎡, and the space is designed to feel the brand's unique identity and atmosphere, with the black color that symbolizes Yohji Yamamoto as the main color.

 

A representative of Shinsegae International said, “This pop-up store was planned so that customers can experience the artistic worldview and brand value of Yohji Yamamoto, a master of the fashion world,” and added, “We will continue to provide various opportunities to provide domestic customers with special brand experiences.”
