Shinsegae International announced that it would launch a luxury golf wear brand PHILIPP PLEIN GOLF on the 14th of this month for the first time in the world and open its first store at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam branch.

PHILIPP PLEIN is a Swiss luxury brand launched in 2004 by designer Philip Plain and is leading global fashion trends by presenting its collection at Milan Fashion Week every season. It has a large fan base with luxurious and bold decorations and crystal skull patterns, and it has gained a great success worldwide by expanding its business area to home products, watches, and perfumes, as well as men's and women's collections and kids' collections.

It is best known for its high price range, which is around 1.9 million won for short-sleeved T-shirts, around 1 million won for training jackets, 1 million won for sneakers, 10 million won for suede jackets, and 5 to 6 million won for leather jackets.

PHILIPP PLEIN GOLF inherited a unique identity of the brand, including Philip Plain's bold design, the highest quality based on artisanship, and unequaled uniqueness. It has combined new dynamic DNA of golf with its unique originality.

In particular, it sets a new standard for luxury golf wear, pursuing high-end materials and sewing techniques optimized for golf, various patterns and fascinating colors, and exclusively high quality. Price range also exceeds the level of existing luxury golf wear.

Shinsegae International launched this ultra-high-priced luxury golf wear because of the increasing number of young and rich golfers in their 20s to 40s who spend a lot on luxury goods and fashion. In fact, sales revenue of J.LINDEBERG, premium golf wear brand increased by 62% year on year in 2022 and 73% of the customers were in their 20s to 40s, indicating high consumption power of young consumers.

Shinsegae International is planning to aggressively target the luxury golf wear market as opening more than six PHILIPP PLEIN GOLF stores in key commercial districts in Korea in the first half of this year alone.

An official from Shinsegae International said, "PHILIPP PLEIN is the only golf wear brand who presents its collection at Milan Fashion Week, which makes it different from others” and added, “Its unique design will be a new alternative for young golfers looking for an extraordinary luxury brand."

Meanwhile, PHILIPP PLEIN GOLF 2022SS collection consists of three lines: ICON$, TEDDY BEAR, and NO LIMIT$.

First, ICON$ was created with the motif of PHILIPP PLEIN logo. It expresses hexagon and skull patterns using a technique like printing and punching based on black and white. Softly moving fringe every swing and luxurious details of Swarovski crystals give off unrivaled charm during rounding.

TEDDY BEAR line offers unique joy with strong red teddy bear character all over the product. It is a luxury sportism line that crosses the boundary of golf wear and resort wear, combined with stylish fashion.

NO LIMIT$ expresses the most freewheeling mood, harmonizing street cultures like graffiti and patchwork with the luxury unique to PHILIPP PLEIN.
